Intermediate Creeking Skills.

This course is for confident intermediate and advanced solo white water paddlers. Learn specific skills and techniques for running rocky creeks such as the Bonnie Brook or Doncastor. Topics included are: How and why to boof. Scrubbing, dig and drag, rock 360 and more. Join me to learn skills not covered in a regular canoe course.

Introduction to Creeking Skills.

Are you a intermediate solo whitewater paddler wondering if it would be fun to try “creeking” on smaller rivers? This course will introduce you to the strokes, skills and techniques for open canoe creeking.

Although a plastic boat is more suitable for actual creeking, you can learn and practice the skills during this course in a royalex boat.

1.5 days  $275+tax

Part 1: Wednesday April 19, 5:30pm - 8:30 pm Location: Pumphouse flatwater gates section Ottawa.

Part 2: Saturday April 22, 9:30am - 4pm. Almonte, Ontario.

Advanced Solo Moving Water skills.

Learn precision boat control, how to read and use wave troughs. Learn the sail technique and other mysterious arts that make whitewater canoeing seem effortless. This course is great preparation for the advanced solo instructor course in June.

2 days  $360+tax

Solo Open Canoe White Water Slalom Coaching

I like slalom... but I love what it does for my paddling skills. Come and find out how to become a more efficient paddler. These coaching sessions are two evenings spread out in June. This gives you have ample time to practice between coaching sessions. A great way to tune up to participate in the Open Canoe National Slalom


2 Evenings. Total=$190+tax

Introduction to Solo Open Canoe Moving Water Skills

Learn basic solo ww playboat canoe skills to maintain control in rapids. This course starts on flat water progressing to coaching in gentle, fun current.

Tandem Advanced Canoeing Skills

We begin the day with a review of the basics (pivots, sideslips, Mith technique, figure 8), with emphasis on boat control. From there we continue to progress from simple manoeuvres in current (eddy turns using power strokes) to more challenging skills and techniques (back ferry and using the current to make moves easier).
